Real Conversation. Real Compassion. Real Support.

Life can be overwhelming. Maybe your mind won't slow down, you're constantly overthinking, your inner critic never seems to quiet down, or you simply don't feel like yourself anymore.

At Bridge to Hope Counseling, we provide compassionate, evidence-based, and neurodivergent-affirming therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, relationships, identity, and other emotional challenges.

You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy.

You just have to show up as you are.

Therapy That Meets You Where You Are

We believe everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, accepted, and empowered to be their full, authentic self.

Our approach is collaborative and individualized. We don't believe in forcing people into a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Instead, we work with you to better understand your experiences, identify what may be getting in the way, and develop tools that support meaningful and lasting change.

Our therapists are here to offer perspective, practical tools, and support while respecting your values, experiences, and goals.

What Can Therapy Help With?

You don't need a diagnosis—or the perfect words—to benefit from therapy.

We support clients experiencing:

  • Anxiety, chronic worry, panic, and overthinking
  • Depression, sadness, numbness, and low motivation
  • Low self-esteem and self-criticism
  • Stress, burnout, and emotional overwhelm
  • Life transitions and uncertainty
  • Relationship challenges and boundaries
  • College and young adult concerns
  • Grief and loss
  • Trauma-related experiences
  • Perfectionism and difficulty letting go of control
  • Identity exploration
  • LGBTQIA+ concerns
  • ADHD and executive functioning challenges
  • Neurodivergent burnout and masking
  • Sensory overwhelm and emotional regulation
  • Workplace and school challenges

If you don't see your specific concern listed, please reach out. Therapy can also be a place to simply explore what isn't working and figure out what you need next.

Anxiety & Depression

Anxiety and depression can affect every part of your life.

Anxiety may look like constant worry, overthinking, avoidance, racing thoughts, difficulty relaxing, or feeling constantly on edge. Depression may feel like sadness, exhaustion, numbness, irritability, low motivation, or feeling disconnected from yourself and the things you once enjoyed.

Together, we can explore what may be contributing to your symptoms and develop practical strategies to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and patterns.

Our goal isn't to expect you to feel happy or calm all the time. It's to help you feel more confident in your ability to navigate difficult emotions and move toward a life that feels meaningful to you.

Self-Esteem & Your Inner Critic

Sometimes the most difficult relationship we have is the one we have with ourselves.

You may constantly question your decisions, compare yourself to others, or feel like no matter what you accomplish, it isn't enough.

In therapy, we can explore where these beliefs came from, challenge patterns of self-criticism, and develop a more compassionate and accepting relationship with yourself.

You deserve to take up space without constantly questioning whether you've earned the right to be there.

Life Transitions, Relationships & Feeling Stuck

Change can be difficult—even when it's something you wanted.

Starting college, changing careers, moving, navigating relationships, exploring your identity, experiencing loss, or simply entering a new stage of life can bring uncertainty and overwhelm.

Therapy provides space to slow down, process what is changing, and reconnect with what matters most to you.

You don't need to have the entire plan figured out. Sometimes the next step becomes clearer when you give yourself permission to stop trying to have all the answers.

LGBTQIA+-Affirming Therapy

You deserve therapy where you can show up as your full, authentic self.

Bridge to Hope Counseling is committed to providing inclusive and affirming care for LGBTQIA+ individuals. You should never have to spend your therapy session defending who you are or educating your therapist about your right to exist.

Whether you are exploring your identity, navigating relationships or family dynamics, experiencing stress related to your identity, or simply looking for a therapist who understands and affirms you, you are welcome here.

Your identity can be part of therapy when you want it to be—but it never has to be the entire focus.

You get to decide what your therapy is about.

Neurodivergent-Affirming Therapy

You deserve therapy where you don't have to pretend to be neurotypical.

We provide affirming care for neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, autism, executive functioning challenges, sensory differences, and other forms of neurodivergence.

Many neurodivergent people have spent years being told they are "too sensitive," "too much," "lazy," or that they simply need to try harder. You may have spent years masking, struggling to meet expectations that don't work for your brain, or feeling exhausted from trying to function in environments that weren't designed with you in mind.

You don't have to do that here.

Our goal is not to make you more neurotypical. Instead, we help you better understand yourself, identify your strengths and needs, and develop tools that work with your brain rather than against it.

Therapy may address:

  • ADHD and executive functioning
  • Autism and autistic identity
  • Masking and neurodivergent burnout
  • Sensory needs and overwhelm
  • Emotional regulation
  • Rejection sensitivity
  • Organization, motivation, and task initiation
  • Internalized shame and self-esteem
  • Relationships and communication
  • Workplace, school, and daily-life challenges

You do not need a formal diagnosis to receive neurodivergent-affirming care. Whether you have known you are neurodivergent for years, were recently diagnosed, or are simply beginning to explore your experiences, you are welcome here.

Our Therapeutic Approach

We use evidence-based approaches while recognizing that therapy should feel like a human conversation—not an interview or a checklist.

Depending on your needs and goals, therapy may incorporate:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps identify the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and develop new ways of responding to patterns that may be contributing to distress.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps you make space for difficult thoughts and emotions while continuing to move toward the values and life that matter most to you.

Solution-Focused Therapy

Solution-focused therapy focuses on your strengths, what is already working, and realistic steps that can move you closer to your goals.

Mindfulness & Emotional Regulation

Mindfulness, grounding, and emotional regulation strategies can help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, and physical responses while creating more space between what you feel and how you respond.

A Different Kind of Therapy Environment

We strive to create an environment with neurodivergent individuals in mind.

As a staff of neurodivergent individuals ourselves, we understand what it can feel like to walk into a sterile, overly bright, and clinical environment.

At Bridge to Hope, we want your experience to feel different.

Our space is designed to feel more like a comfortable living room than a traditional office. You are welcome to get comfortable, take off your shoes, change positions, fidget, curl up in a chair, or even sit on the floor.

You don't have to perform wellness here.

You can simply be yourself.

In-Person & Online Therapy

We offer in-person counseling in our Normal, Illinois office and online therapy for clients throughout Illinois.

Whether you prefer meeting in person or from the comfort of your own home, we want therapy to feel accessible and manageable for your life.

You Don't Have to Do This Alone

Starting therapy can feel intimidating. You may wonder whether your problems are "bad enough," worry that you won't know what to say, or feel uncertain about whether therapy is right for you.

That's okay.

You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

At Bridge to Hope Counseling, we're here to meet you where you are and support you as you move toward a life that feels more authentic, meaningful, and manageable.

Real Conversation. Real Compassion. Real Support.
